Parent FAQ
Straight answers for the questions parents ask first.
- Will it do my child’s homework for them?
- No. It explains, asks guiding questions, and offers level-matched practice. It should not complete worksheets or submit schoolwork.
- Does our child’s work go to the cloud?
- Not for normal home use. Tutoring is designed to run on your home network with data on your family’s PCs. Optional school sharing, if added later, will be parent-controlled and off by default. Privacy Policy · How local AI works
- What computer do we need?
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) for the desktop app. The parent hub runs the AI — a typical household PC is the target; GPU helps, hybrid/CPU modes exist for lighter machines. Child can use another Windows PC or a browser on home Wi‑Fi.
- Does it work offline?
- After the first download of the local model/runtime, tutoring is meant to stay on your home network. You still need the parent hub on for a separate child device.
- How many kids does $99 cover?
- One household purchase: multiple children on one parent hub, on your home computers. Not a classroom site license.
- Is there a subscription?
- Core local home tutoring is planned as a one-time unlock — not a monthly cloud seat. Any future optional school features would be called out separately.
- What about the 14-day trial?
- Coming with public launch so families can try the real product. Final rules (including payment card requirements) will be published before sales open.
- Can a teacher see our child’s progress?
- Not by default. A school portal with parent invite codes is on the roadmap. Nothing school-facing should share without a parent choosing to link and share.
- We can’t afford $99. Is there help?
- Email funbotlearning@gmail.com — we plan a free path for families who need it.
